July 2017 - Chasing the sun - literally.

I think my most memorable moment from this trip to Cyprus was when I thought a random elderly fellow was going to attack me. 

We booked an Airbnb in a tinyass village up in the mountains - about a 40 minute drive north from Paphos. It ended up being a pretty sweet place to stay but damn the first hour or so was an absolute shambles. Firstly, trying to get to an apartment with dodgy directions isn’t the easiest of tasks, definitely took a wrong turn about 27 times. Secondly, we had trouble getting the key for the house - because it was so hot and I’m not good with the heat I went to wait in the car while Zeki and Hamad tried to resolve the issue.

Now picture me chillin’ in the car with the AC on vibing to some music in a village that you can walk across in about 5 minutes - when this oldass, scary lookin’ dude yells in a weird way and tries to open the door of the car. I honestly had no idea wtf was going on so I kinda just yelled back and was ready to throw hands. I immediately phoned the homies and let them know about the loco dude to which they came sprinting, but in the 30 seconds it took them to get to the car the dude was long gone.

After that happened I decided to firm the heat and wait with them while we got the Airbnb sorted. From that moment on, the trip could only get better. 

But that’s a story for another day.
