The Last Dance
February 2016 - I think one of my greatest talents is not dressing appropriately for cold weather.
Shoutout to my friend Hugo (from CHI all the way to HK) - honestly one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. On a cold snowy night during my third year of uni in Chicago we went to catch a Bulls game (against the Wizards) - it wasn’t exactly a thrilling game but it was my first taste of watching a basketball game live so I enjoyed it a lot.
I remembered this photo because I recently finished watching The Last Dance, a series revolving around Michael Jordan and his career. Show is a straight 10/10 - I would definitely recommend it.
After finishing the series my admiration for MJ has increased significantly, I was always aware of his achievements but I didn’t know that much about his whole story (like many others I imagine). The guys mentality and work ethic is on another level - to be that dominant year after year is actually insane.
One of the scenes that stuck out to me is when MJ is chilling in his hotel room, at peace, away from everybody else. It got me thinking about fame and attention. The way I’ve always looked at it is that if I could have any sort of fame, I would want it to be in a very particular area. One where I’d only be known amongst a certain crowd in a certain place - anywhere else there would be nothing.
