April 2019 - FML

Self isolation wasn’t going too bad until yesterday.

I woke up, feeling eager to run. The goal was to improve on my previous time of running a 5k, however God clearly had something else planned. 1k into my run and I trip over my shoe lace… what an absolute dumbass. To be fair I’ve used the same shoes for all my runs in the past 6 years (6 seems like a lot but I don’t run that much) and this was the first time I had fallen. What made it worse was the fact that the path had lots of small stones - I swear the injuries make the fall look waaay worse than it actually was.

I’ve experienced something similar before. In the middle of my powerlifting program and I injured my leg - it is one of the worst feelings. Knowing that all that time and effort you put in will be lost. Alas, these things happen - what is life without setbacks? As my man Rocky Balboa once famously said, “It's not about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward.”

Ah well. Now I’m definitely staying at home for a while. It's such a shit feeling - especially when half of your body has been rendered useless. Just have to try to heal up as soon as possible so I can get back to it.

RIP gains <3.

Note: Mans a TGP so put some respect on my name (if you know you know).
