5AM in Toronto
March 2016 – 5AM in Toronto.
I had an Airbnb in downtown Toronto about a 10-minute walk from the CN Tower – it was relatively cheap and had a pretty sweet view. Having a place close to downtown was a good idea, rather than using public transport I spent a lot of time walking. I think it’s better to spend as much time as you can walking around a new city, you end up seeing so much more.
The only issue I faced with the apartment was when I got back at midnight and somehow broke the door handle (I swear I opened it normally). I had to phone the Airbnb owner explaining what had happened, can’t say they were overly pleased to be forced to come down on a Sunday night… At least knowing how to say sorry in Mandarin came in handy.
In the end the door handle was fixed – and I didn’t have to pay as it was covered by the buildings maintenance plan or whatever (woo). Better yet she still left me a good review on Airbnb.
