Huset Under Bron
March 2018 – One of the strangest trips of my entire life.
This picture was taken at Solna Centrum station. For those of you who don’t know – Stockholm’s metro system is one giant art exhibition. Most of the train stations here are decorated with sculptures, mosaics and paintings, each station telling its own story. Unfortunately, we were only in Stockholm for 3 days and the fact we had a car meant we didn’t really get to see the artwork at the various stations. We drove to this particular station at night and asked the dude at the counter if he could let us in so we could take a few pictures and he was kind enough to let us in (never hurts to ask). Although it is very convenient to have a car there do try spending a day using the metro, there is a lot of dope art to be seen.
Now the reason why it was such a strange trip – we visited a club called Huset Under Bron (literally house under a bridge). Despite the dodgy location it was cool inside – 3 or 4 floors (can’t remember how many exactly) with different music playing on each, I can see it being appealing for a lot of people. Only thing is the majority of the music wasn’t really to my taste. My most vivid memory of the place is this weirdass tribal music that was playing and people dancing (if you can call it that) in a very funky way. Perhaps some peculiar substances were involved.
All in all a fun few days.
Tip: There is an indoor waterpark just over an hour away (by car) called Kokpunkten, which is a bit of fun despite the rides being for kids. Best part about this was the Spa at the top – it costs extra but is way better than the waterpark itself.
