Man on the Moon

July 2017 – Think this was taken at 4am or something – don’t really remember.

As a kid I didn’t think the moon was following me – I just wondered how tf the moon appeared and disappeared at its discretion. I think one of the main reasons for me deciding to study physics at university was that I liked understanding how the world works. I still do tbf. If I had to continue studying after my masters, I would’ve preferred to research something within the field of astrophysics.

There is something mesmerising about the night sky, well not in London… anywhere without pollution so you can actually see the stars around us. Despite not having the best of views here I still enjoy staring at the sky, I find myself doing it time and time again as a way of meditation. ‘Tis a pretty good way to relax, and perhaps overthink the most useless shit that is totally out of our control (we’re all guilty of it).

One of the places on my bucket list to visit is Hawaii – because of its low level of pollution and access to peaks such as Mauna Kea it is one of the best locations for stargazing.

Etizaz’s fact of the day: Of all the stars visible from Earth, 80% of them are visible from Hawaii.
